Sometimes the wait isn't a waste—it's preparation for the moment when the divine decides you're ready. For fifteen long years, I carried the desire to visit Maa Vaishno Devi in my heart. Fifteen years of watching others embark on their pilgrimages, of hearing their stories, of feeling that gentle pull toward Trikuta Parvat. But the time never seemed right. Life happened. Responsibilities took precedence. Years rolled by. Yet somewhere deep within, I knew: when Mata calls, you go. And finally, after what felt like an eternity of waiting, She called me.
The Journey Begins.....
They say Mata doesn't call everyone at the same time. She waits for the perfect moment, when your heart is truly ready to receive Her blessings. Looking back now, I understand why those fifteen years weren't wasted—they were necessary. Every challenge I faced, every lesson I learned, every prayer I whispered in those years was preparing me for this sacred journey.
When the call finally came, it wasn't dramatic or sudden. It was a gentle certainty that settled in my soul: Now is the time.
Blessed Beyond Measure.....
What I experienced during my pilgrimage exceeded every dream I'd held for those fifteen years. Mata didn't just grant me darshan—She showered me with blessings I never imagined possible.
The Aarti of Divine Grace....
The first blessing came in the form of attending the live Atka Aarti. To witness this magnificent ceremony, where countless devotees gather in devotion as the evening descends upon the holy cave, was overwhelming. The rhythmic chanting, the fragrance of incense, the sight of the sacred flame dancing before the Pindies—it felt as though time stood still and only Mata's presence remained.
But Mata had more in store. I was also blessed to attend the Ardhkuwari Aarti, performed at the cave where Mata had meditated in Her Ardh Kumari form. Standing there, in that very spot where the divine once rested, participating in the aarti, I felt a connection that transcended the physical realm.
The Sacred Cave of Garbhjoon....
Perhaps the most profound experience was exploring the Garbhjoon Cave. This isn't just any cave—it's the womb of the Mother herself, a narrow passage where devotees must crawl through in complete surrender, symbolizing rebirth and spiritual transformation.
As I entered that sacred space, leaving my ego and worldly concerns behind, I understood what true surrender means. The darkness of the cave, the closeness of the rocks, the echo of prayers—everything spoke of the journey from darkness to light, from ignorance to enlightenment. Emerging from the other side, I felt reborn, cleansed, renewed.
Throughout my pilgrimage, I witnessed countless moments of divine beauty:
The sunrise over the mountains as pilgrims chanted "Jai Mata Di" with unwavering faith. The elderly devotee who climbed every step with a smile, her faith stronger than her aging body. The young children carrying offerings with such devotion. The helpers who served without expecting anything in return, embodying Mata's spirit of selfless service.
I saw faith in its purest form. I saw miracles in small gestures. I saw Mata's presence in every smiling face, every helping hand, every word of encouragement shared among fellow pilgrims.
The Waiting Wasn't Wasted.....
Now, having completed this sacred journey, I realize with absolute clarity: those fifteen years of waiting weren't wasted. They were purposeful.
The wait taught me patience. It deepened my faith. It made me appreciate the blessing even more when it finally arrived. Had I gone earlier, perhaps I wouldn't have been ready to receive all that Mata had to offer. Perhaps my heart wouldn't have been open enough to truly see, to truly feel, to truly understand.
Every year of waiting added another layer of devotion, another depth of longing, another dimension of gratitude. When the moment finally came, I was ready—not just physically to make the journey, but spiritually to receive the transformation.
A Message for Fellow Devotees....
If you're reading this and you've been waiting—for months, for years, perhaps even longer than I did—please know this: Your wait is not in vain.
Mata knows. She sees your devotion. She hears your prayers. And when the time is absolutely perfect, when you're ready to receive what She has to offer, She will call you.
Trust in Her timing. Keep your faith alive. Continue your prayers. And know that when your moment comes, it will be worth every single day of waiting.
Jai Mata Di .... !
My fifteen-year journey to Maa Vaishno Devi has taught me that divine blessings come not just in the destination, but in the entire journey—including the waiting. The Atka Aarti, the Ardhkuwari Aarti, the Garbhjoon Cave, and every sacred sight I witnessed were all part of Mata's perfect plan.
She called me when I was ready. She blessed me beyond measure. And now, my heart overflows with gratitude for both the waiting and the receiving.
To all the devotees: Keep the faith. Your time will come. And when it does, you'll understand that every moment of waiting was preparing you for the divine embrace that awaits.
A heartfelt gratitude to my big brother, Rohit Bhaiya, who made this entire journey possible. Without his support, love, and encouragement, this 15-year dream would have remained unfulfilled. Thank you, Bhaiya, for being the means through which Mata's blessings reached me.
